The car I had in High School was or wanted!

It was the begining, of the time when every young boy wants a car! To spread his wings and see beyond the next valley and hill, for me wanting and getting was going to take some saving and doing! But the time came and I paid cash for it! She was a 1967 Ford Mercury Couger, she had clean lines and sequential turn signals, she had a '289 with a three speed and a 2 barrel carburator, she purred like a kitten and still had the power to accomplish me in my rights of passage the omnious first speeding ticket! She is gone, but I often think of her and all the fun we had together. If I should to happen on another, I would buy her and restore her just so I could feel young again and feel the warmth on my face as we cruised along!

Cars were guys best friend in HS. You didnt sit on a guys car without permission and if another guy ask you to help him work on his car you always said yes. Cuz you knew that when the time came for you to need help your buddy would be there for you. The cars some of the guys had were totaly awesome!...some not. Ted Hart had a 52 Chevy that was totaly original and at the time we thought it was emberresing to be seen in it. It didnt have a scratch on it. That thing would be worth a fortune now. My 61 Impala was the same way but it only took me about a yr to trash it with dingle balls, dice, loud pipes and jacked up rear end. I thought my dad was going to kill me. My favorite 2 cars were owned by Benny Mezzarus 64 GTO and Pat Kelly's 69 Trans Am. Boy they were fast! David Coles 58 Vette was quick too but at the time I didnt really appreciate it. Probably the koolest car was Jimmy Copelands red 66 Pointiac Convertable GTO he got in senior year. He still had it when I got stationed at March AFB in 73. Well thats some of the car stuff I have from the past. Lots more...racing, Elsenor trips, bikes...etc. Lets hear some more stuff...thanks for starting this Terry.

My first was a 1957 Triumph TR-3 (photo of car in my profile) that I bought from a chaplain at March AFB. Like many others, I sure wish I still had it. Only paid a few $100 then - it would cost 15-20 grand to replace now. I do have an MG Midget similar to the one I would borrow from my neighbor for parades.

I remember going with my friend, Rene (1973) to the Riverside Auto Mall in Riverside in fall to drool over all the latest models.

I was driving a 1971 Honda 600 Series Sedan. This car was so small, classmates used to pick it up and turn it sideways between two cars, so that I could not get out. I always had to park way in the back of the parking lot just to make sure I wouldn't be in between to vehicles.

I loved that big Caddillac Eldorado you drove around in! It alway put a smile on my face to see you driving such a huge car.
