This was another very sad update for me to hear directly from Tom Chelbana this afternoon. Like most all of the graduating Class of 1966 I knew many of our classmates clear back to my earlier years at the old Moreno Elementary School. The township of Moreno was a small General Store & Post Office with a 2 pump gas station. At that time I think the price of fuel was 13.9 cents for Regular and 15.9 cents for Ethel.

I knew both Royce and his younger brother Steve from those very early days and stayed in contact with Royce as I was part of the Class of 1966 50th Reunion Committee. Most recently I had lunch with Royce and several other classmates from Moreno High about 6 months ago in MoVal.

I also worked with Royce on the 50th
Reunion. Many of the meetings were held
in his home with Riyce his wife Patty
hosting. I will always remember Royce's
smile and friendly personality. Rest in
Peace Royce. Condolences to his wife
Patty and family.

Sad to hear of the passing of another founding member of the Vikings class 1966 family.

I knew Royce Goodwin and his family for many years.  We would occasionally go to their home on Sundays.

I had classes with Royce, and of course amazed by his skill at playing football.  Thoughts and prayers for his family.   His larger than life presence will be missed.   He must have been amazing teacher.

How do you say goodbye? How are you supposed to forget all the great memories, I don't think we can ever do that. I know our hearts go out to Royce's family,Patty, kids and grandkids and all the friends whose lives have - been touched by Royce. We never think of friends being gone, only of the next time we will see them. Obviously not always the case. We need to treasure our time with them. May our hearts be comforted by the love of the Lord always

Betty and I were shocked to learn of Royce Goodwin's recent death.  Royce was always a very friendly, hard working guy who everyone liked.

Royce was also a very tough guard on the undefeated, league champion, Moreno Valley High School football team coached by the great Myron Tarkanian who passed away a few years ago.  Rudy Olivares, Bill McAllister, Mike Stokes, others and I had to go one on one in football with Royce and he left bruises on a lot of us.  He was a real tough, Viking stud.

We wish Royce's family and friends nothing but the best in this very sad time.

I'm saddened to hear of Royce's passing. I do remember him as a tough guy on the football team.
He was a person with the positive attitude, he will be missed.
GOD Bless his family!
