In Memory

Mike Massey - Class Of 1968 VIEW PROFILE

Mike Massey

As reported to me, from his little sister Barbara '68 who loved him very much.  Mike is survived by his wife-Judy and 2 boys.
Mike was a wonderful brother and father. He was an exceptional basketball player for the Vikings. He died very young and that is a loss for all of us. I loved him very much.

Mike, you were my friend and classmate, I am proud that I had the opportunity to share with you those years gone by, you will always be loved and remembered on this site and in all of our hearts, rest in eternal sleep, Your smiling face will always be remembered.

No longer with us in body, but never forgotten in spirit, death can show us the way, for when we know and understand completely that our time on this Earth is limited, and that we have no way of knowing when it will be over, then we must live each day as if it were the only one we had.

Life is so fragile. EVERY DAY IS A GIFT . . . Remember, It is not how we die that is our legacy, but how we lived in life that we were given.

"To live in hearts we leave behind, is not to die." Thomas Campbell

One of the saddest parts about running this site is to have to report finding a Viking only to have to turn around and move him/her to the 'In Memory' Page. Mike Massey' 68,
This time Mike was more than a fellow Viking, he was my friend. When they saw me in the Quad trying to finish my homework, he and Charlotte Addy, would come up and help me -- they were the ones who came along and really showed that they cared and would talk me through the problem. I am always in their debt for caring.

Please take time to post a note 'In Memory,' for him and all our fellow Vikings!

My prayers and condolences to the surviving family. To his wife, Judy and boys, to sis Barb. I remember Mike as a very level headed friend to my at the time boyfriend, Pat Scruggs. I too remember his 57 Chevy, I think it was blue with him and Pat in it. Mike had a balance of calm demeanor and humor. I don't think I ever heard anyone say a negative thing about him. Such a sweet spirit. His death was a shock and his memory a treasure. May God keep you Mike. Liz
