Dennis died on 12/22/1971 shortly after graduating. He was riding his 1971 500cc Kawasaki triple when he accidentally struck a piece of farm equipment that had been left on the shoulder of the freeway. He was 19.
Dennis lived "Next door" to me on Pidgon Pass Road. That would have been about a mile away. We rode the bus to school every day and he used to come to the house on his dirt bike. He is the first boy who let me ride one. Very fond memories of him...RIP
Before his mom bought him the Kawasaki he was riding when he died, she bought him a black Yamaha 180cc twin scrambler. I used to ride with him on those sandy dirt roads behind their ranch house. He was a fearless rider, and it scared the crap out of me, but he never dumped us. More fond memories…
