Bob and I were youth neighbors in Edgemont.  We got learner permits about the same time and practiced parallel parking on the street in front of the house. Getting our driver license was a primary life goal. His family had a white Dodge Dart with a new  "Slant 6" style engine.  It was destined to become famous for reliability.  His father predicted that correctly.

Bob was self-confident with girls, so I emulated him.  He liked sandwiches with so much peanut butter...they nearly glued his mouth shut.       Good times.

Bob was SOOOO good looking! His (surfing?) accident left him in a wheelchair, but his smile was like sunshine. Jake Funk and I visited him a few times. He was so full of laughter and light. Does anyone know when he passed?

Bob passed away about mid 70's or early 80's.  He was confined to wheel chair after a major car accident.  He loved cars and when he was attending UCR I went down to San Diego to pick up his race car (he couldn't drive but loved when some else could drive it).  I borrowed my brothers car trailer, because Paul was into drag racing and had the trailer.  We put it on the trailer and drove it up to UCR and he had a parking space at the dorm assigned to him and that's where I dropped it off.  Some of the guys at the dorm were going to help him get it back into racing shape.  I heard that he left school and went  to live with his parents back down in San Diego and that is where he died.  Tom

Of course I remember Bob, I looked him up in the obits and found a match for Robert Steven Wildermuth born 1950 and died 1982 seems to fit.  Big toothy grin, long strides, great body!

Thanks to all of you who remember Bob... To me that is important that we can shake out the cobwebs and remember one of ours... it would be nice if someone had a picture to place with nis name.  He was not listed in the 1968 Valhalla.
